    The Workshop Pottery

Specialise in handmade earthenware ceramics. offers gallery and pottery classes information with prices.

Peter Stocker started the Workshop Pottery with his wife Sally in February 1979 in Brighton Open Market having survived two very cold winters they moved to a large warm shop in Trafalgar Street in February 1981. Being in the heart of North Laine Brighton made the shop very accessible and locals and tourists alike helped to support them and encourage them to produce the colourful earthenware they became well known for.

In 1996 Peter took over the day to day duties of the pottery as Sally returned to teaching. Since then Peter has produced and decorated all the ceramics but they still collaborate on outdoor events and some educational and corporate commissions.

In 2008 Peter decided to concentrate on Raku ceramics and limit his range of domestic ware to give him more time to teach and experiment. Peter moved from the shop to set up his present studio which allows him to be more flexible and accept more opportunities such as the October 2007 visiting tutor post at Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta.
