Call to register: A Saturday morning beginners class will be offered in January 2014, also for style switchers and other martial artists interested in delving into the Yang family’s original art. Kevin Bryant, the Chief instructor has been training in the family’s original method for almost twenty years, his teacher has been training with the family since 1997 and Kevin began training with family members in 2006, taking annual trips to Hong Kong. Kevin opened a school in Surrey in 2003 and will continue to teach there while he establishes a teaching practice in Brighton/Hove. Prior to founding Tai Chi Club of Surrey, Kevin held senior positions in private industry and now runs a small consultancy. His time in the corporate world as well as his experience balancing work and family life adds a useful perspective to his teaching practice.
More on Kevin’s background: began his training with master Chu Gin Soon in Boston, second disciple of Yeung Sau Chung, in turn the eldest son of Yeung Cheng Fu. Since 1998, he has studied with Jim Uglow (London), a Direct Student of Yeung Ma Lee (Mary), daughter of Yeung Sau Chung. Mr Uglow is the preeminent Yeung family practitioner in Europe. Kevin became a disciple in 2007.
